  1. Reblogged this on Moonlit Prairie and commented:
i appreciate this posting, knowing the reason/justification/excuse why mobs of their fellow human beings would murder my ancestors helps me to understand my history as a pagan person better…

    • I apologize if you took personal offence. I did not intend to justify witch burning. Fortunately, at least I hope, that period in American history is over for good. The intention of the posting was to inform readers of what the bible has to say on the subject of witchcraft, not to imply that is was correct to burn anyone. It is sad that many different groups of peoples have been persecuted and killed simply because of their beliefs and lifestyles. Consider how many Christians have been persecuted, killed and even burned all around the world for over 2 thousand years beginning with their founder.

      • of course, no offence taken here, and indeed your very right that harming others is sad whomevers head it falls on.

  2. Christian hands are bathed in the blood of so many innocent people. Through the centuries they have, in the name of the lord, they have butchered any one who did not agree with them not only for religious dogma, but for greed for land, possessions and women. They point their fingers at others and say that the christians have also been murdered for their beliefs They are as guilty as everyone else. Today fundamentalist christians hold their bibles up and shout that god hates arabs, homosexuals and anyone else that differs with them. Even the pope has said they are insane. Their blind rage is frightening. While I support anyone’s right to believe what they want, I can not condone the darkness and fear they bring to our land.

    • You make some very honest and sincere points and I thank you for them. It is troubling and painful to consider the terrible actions of these violent men. I too which these events had never taken place in history. Their actions have only worked to draw people further away from Christ. However I have no doubt that these blood thirsty men were not Christians. They may have claimed to be Christians, but that does not make them Christians, just like claiming to be the strongest man in the world would not make it so. I would have to prove it. To be a Christian you must follow the teachings of Christ. Jesus warned against using the sword and told his followers to love their enemies. He never proposed violence as a solution. In contrast the solution Jesus insisted on was love. Oh and I agree with you, Christians have no business telling others that God hates anyone. John 3:16 alone proves that to be a lie.
I would ask you to fairly consider the works of genuine Christians. These are the ones who are following Christ in sincerity. They give to charity, open up hospitals, orphanages, volunteer their service to the needy, visit the sick and the imprisoned. Remember you can call yourself what you want to, but it is your fruit that proves who you are.
